Welcome one and all to the She & the Sea Tee Shirt Blog! Over the coming months, I’ll be posting more cool stuff like designs and other assorted flavours of fun! Be sure to check out the Official Facebook Page here (accept no imitations) and I’ll keep you posted as to when the store will launch!
That being said, here’s the low down on what exactly She & the Sea is. I’m pretty much a tee shirt company. Nothing special for now. This is a small independent company (and you’ll understand what I mean by small when you see the availability of shirts when the store launches) and I’m out to make cool tee shirts with some nautical flavour. Most of you recognise this reference to the old tongue twister: “She sells sea shells by the sea shore”, right? Well the title is pretty much a homage to that, but there’s more to it. There’s whole ‘nother significance to the title that I want to bring out in my tees.
The title is a throwback to my long-time lovers, She as well as the Sea. Who exactly is “She” many may ask? Well the answer is pretty much in the name. She can be anyone. Mom, Grandma, Mother Nature, the love interest at the moment, love interests future-tense, sisters, cousins, friends and other irreplacable figures of the fairer sex who come and go. It’s important to always pay tributes to those who you love in some way or another. This is mine. As for “the Sea”, I think this one’s pretty obvious. Growing up in the Cayman Islands, the Caribbean Sea was pretty much just another factor that completes your life. I didn’t know a life without it until I left and whenever I’m without it, I always want it back! So it’s safe to say that branding my tee shirts after these two has been well thought out!
Why tee shirts though? Because I really really love tee shirts! I mean, what better way to not just make a statement, but an announcement? A really cool tee shirt will turn heads and make everyone want to do the same! What better way to put some creativity to use?
